100% affordable housing greenery.
Nature Based worked with the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco) to design and build an 800 sqft green roof farm for the 8th floor terrace of Bronx Commons. The green roof area is surrounded by many large fiberglass planters filled with perennial food producers such as apples, pears, figs, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, hardy kiwi, golden raspberries, black berries, and red raspberries. We also planted the ground level areas surrounding the Bronx Music Hall with native plants. Bronx Commons is a 100% affordable housing complex developed and managed by WHEDco in the Melrose neighborhood of Bronx, NY.
