Planting a new chapter in the woods.

Nature Based designed and built this wildscaped Catskill outcropping after the client finished an extension on their home away from home in the woods. To compliment the intricate maze of existing old style Catskill stone walls wrapping the property, large irregular colonial blue wallstone was chosen as garden bed retaining walls. Deer browsing, summer heat, and hardiness informed the native plant palette. Elderberry seedlings and a massive spreading of tall grass and pollinator seeds were planted along the entire periphery of the meadow to create a functional and beautiful new woodland edge condition.
