Nature Based worked with the National Wildlife Federation and PS 31 to create a monolithic raised bed garden system that maximized the usable space in an existing fenced area. The system is designed to fit perfectly into a garden nook. The monolithic raised bed was built using the structural strength of the fence posts and retaining wall. Green infrastructure components were used to essentially build a closed off green roof system layered on the schoolyard’s pavement - roots cannot penetrate into subsurface. Beams made from 100% recycled materials form the walls.
