The Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness awarded a grant to Nature Based to design and build sub-irrigated growing beds at three public schools on Staten Island. The RFP asked for a budget conscious plan to provide educational programming for students, sustainable raised beds for growing healthy food, and to maximize planting space within the budget. In the spring of 2019 we completed the project. Everything was planted by students under guidance by Nature Based staff.
